Right now, 33 rural hospitals across our state are at risk of closing. That means longer emergency response times, fewer doctors, and communities left without the healthcare they depend on. I’ve seen firsthand what happens when Washington plays politics with healthcare. When the Affordable Care Act subsidies were rolled back, my own monthly health insurance premium jumped from $625 to $1,430 almost overnight. Families shouldn’t have to choose between paying their bills and keeping health coverage. I’m running for the U.S. Senate because Louisiana deserves better. We need to protect our rural hospitals, lower healthcare costs, and make sure every Louisianan, no matter where they live, has access to quality, affordable care.
